Across the world, the Surf Lifesaving organisation is present on almost all significant beaches and some inland waterways. The workhorse rescue board has saved countless lives throughout its use. Our soft top design offers new levels of safety regarding ocean and water rescue because of the higher floatation properties and reduced impact potential in adopting a soft outer shell construction. Performance Highlights
Water rescue using a purpose-made rescue board requires that the design meets exacting performance requirements. It must have enough volume and stability to support a victim while rescuing. The deck must offer enough grip to secure the victim, further improved by including a recessed deck into which the victim can be secured. Multiple grab handles must also be included for ease of securing with the hands when in the water or on board, at the front or rear. The board must also be fast and efficient and be easily paddled by the hands, whether on the knees, typical of Australian lifesavers or on the stomach. Sufficient nose curvature is added to limit nose-diving, and the rear rails provide positive bite when returning to shore in foam or cleaner breaks. The removable rear fin is secured within a universal fin box and is set well forward for maximum control and manoeuvrability.

Construction
The top deck incorporates epoxy resin laminates, using 6oz glass reinforced plastic (GRP), 1mm bamboo sheet, 4oz GRP and soft ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam, non-slip deck and rail covering, nose to tail. Underside incorporates all epoxy resin laminates, 4oz GRP, 1mm bamboo sheeting, 4oz GRP and 3mm high-density poly ethylene (HDPE) smooth skin outer laminate layer. The inner core uses 18kg/m3 expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam + wood stinger for added longitudinal stiffness.

Storage
For outside storage, use a board bag, created specifically for the protection of your board when not in use. Rinse with freshwater before storage. Minimising exposure to the elements especially strong sunlight. Store indoors, on horizontal or vertical rack. Avoid heat sources. Do not top load with heavy items.

Care
Take care to avoid high impact with rocks and objects which my cause damage. Do not leave exposed to strong sunlight for extended time. If securing to car roof rack, do not over-tighten straps. Protect rail edges with padding to prevent crushing. Carry do not drag. Avoid suncreams coming into contact with decking, use a rash guard shirt for UV and chest abrasion protection. Rinse with fresh water after use to prevent salt crystals absorbing oils from the decking.
