Zonda sail 5'4m

Free-ride windsurfing is the most popular pursuit of windsurfers. Blasting over flat water throwing in some chop-hopping, nailing hard turns and being powered up in control are what it’s all about. Our Zonda sails are designed in collaboration with Simmer Sails, are highly tuneable and forgiving when the wind’s inconsistent delivering free-ride sailing for the pleasure of pure, free-windsurfing or wind foiling.

Performance Highlights
5 batten sail profile, useable over a wide wind range. Well balanced and forgiving in the gusts due to leach twist-off. This forgiving nature is also noticeable through moves and manoeuvres. Our Zonda sails brush off flat landings absorbing and cushioning over-load. In the turns, sailors will feel a positive pull; allowing the rider to develop confidence and trust. A good choice for anybody looking to stomp gybes and moves like downwind 360s for the first time or build consistency. They're great to pump as well. Reacting instantly when effort's put in, even with marginal winds, they will generate speed to get your board planing. The boom head clamp and double-down haul pulley system, makes rigging a breeze in combination with the pin lock adjustable boom.

Recommended, 35knots maximum wind strength based on average body weight and ability. This is not a light wind sail, but a technical sail.

RIGGING COMPONENTS

MX1 Aluminium Boom
Our MX1 boom features super snag-fit, quick-lock apex; the system works on both SDM (Standard Radius Mast) and RDM (Reduced Radius Mast). A narrow gauge diameter ensures riders with smaller palms and fingers can gain a positive grip, averaging 27mm. The MX1 features a 4 double-pin lock adjustable system, providing a positive and stiff connection between the boom and telescopic inner body even when fully extended. The generous extension range will cover almost all sail sizes you require.

Boom Profile
The boom outline and width at the tail (rear) are crucial for the rig to deliver a perfect balance of power and control. The boom outline is specifically designed for freeride and 'bump n' jump' performance, where you need to be closer to the rig for maximum control.

Boom Head Clamp
Our boom head is designed to ensure maximum boom-to-mast securement. A high friction contact surface against the mast is guaranteed, ensuring the boom remains in place, even during hard landings or falls! A strong rope hook set-up provides superb stability, and our boom clasp lever allows effortless micro and macro tensioning when securing the boom to its correct position. It can even be adjusted on water if needed.

RDM Shim
Our MX1 booms include an integrated shim to fit RDM masts for secure fitment.

Double Pin Locking System
For safe load spread, our MX1 booms feature a double pin lock system for maximum securement fit between the telescopic body and tail end even when fully extended.

MX1 Aluminium Extension
Operates using a 'Universal Pin System' with a quick release button. Durable aluminium tube combined with double pulleys for friction-free, high-tension down-hauling. A great quality extension.

Optimum Rider
Intermediate to advanced standard. 35knots maximum wind strength based on average body weight and ability.

Storage
Before extended storage, rinse with freshwater and air dry. Lay flat and roll from mast head into tubular shape and secure within tubular bag supplied. Avoid storing next to heat source (radiators etc). Do not top load objects on top of sail. Store in doors.
