Our 5.5m2 Go Surf rig is the ideal windsurfing sail and rig size for learning windsurfing skills and for schools seeking a workhorse rig for eager pupils. Typically, learning to windsurf requires light winds from around 5 knots to a maximum of 20 knots for all-comers; the sail size is the critical limiting factor.
Lightweight and easy to uphaul and manage, the Go Surf 5.5m2 sail is designed to be a durable learning rig for winds, ideally between 5 and 12 knots for kids averaging 14 years of age and upwards or for lightweight adults up to 15 knots.
The Go Surf Rig is designed to cope with the wear and tear at windsurfing schools and centres or for family use. All rig components are designed for maximum ease of use and durability and are sold as a package for simplicity and compatibility. Light and agile in the hands, it gives the learner the best chance to learn windsurfing skills quickly. Combining all its design features and panelling layout results in an excellent rig for conventional laminated or inflatable boards.

An adjustable aluminium mast extension for differing luff lengths is included and features a universal push-release connection between the mast foot and mast housed in a tough polycarbonate shell. It includes an internal cleat and cavity recess to tuck away the downhaul running end.
Three full-width battens provide optimal sail stability and a degree of pre-tensioning and camber for improved performance and shape. A mini head batten and foot batten added further stability to the sail’s shape and stability. The foot panel edge is reinforced with nylon webbing. The PVC window offers superb wide-angle visibility. The fixed mast head is reinforced with scuff-resistant nylon fabric, where high abrasion is common. The quality and functionality of the rig components add to the quality and performance, specifically selected for optimum integration.
MAST
A two-piece, reduced-diameter mast (RDM) with 40% carbon to fibreglass content delivers soft handling. It is ideal for beginners and the best choice for novice sailors who want to improve their windsurfing to an expert's level.
BOOM
Vario (adjustable) monocoque, 160-210cm non-tapered, aluminium boom for use between sail sizes and a diameter of 27mm covered by EVA foam. A durable design with telescopic adjustment via the tail extension and a double stainless steel pin system provides optimum load distribution and ease of use. The boom-to-mast connection uses a tough polycarbonate, high friction contact, rope hook and lever clamp for ultimate fitment and security.
MAST EXTENSION
The aluminium design features dual rollers and a cleat system within the polycarbonate shell and recess to secure the downhaul running end.
If you’re looking for an all-in-one windsurfing rig or one for school use, the Go Surf 5.5m rig is a top solution. It delivers high performance, simplicity of rigging and de-rigging, and top on-water performance. It can also be used with various laminated or inflatable boards.
