SABfoil x Mistral
synergistic perfection
- home /
- foiling / sabfoil
Our synergistic relationship with Italian-based makers and designers SAB (formerly MOSES foils) ensures our equipment is designed and produced at the very highest levels of quality and performance. Made in Italy, using top-quality composite materials and mechanical components, and manufactured using anthropomorphic robots, CNC machines, presses and ovens. The foils are designed using certified CAD software, virtually prototyped with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and tested by trusted professional athletes to ensure maximum quality, performance and reliability to our customers.
SABFOIL & MISTRAL
Hydrofoil Kits or Build Your Ride
Hydrofoil Sets
To get started, one of the best options is to start out with one of our 'ready to ride' hydrofoil kits, bagged and ready for you to set up and hit the water. The sport is easier to figure out than the hydrofoil components and which to invest in when you start out. In particular, our 'Mistral powered by SAB foils' kits have a wide range of front wings, masts and fuselages, so your kit can evolve and progress with your ability.
Fuselages
The length of the fuselage has an impact on stability and performance. A longer fuselage will lend more stability, while a shorter one will bring the front wing closer to the stabiliser, allowing for more manoeuvrability and more dynamism in pumping and handling. The fuselage length also determines a foil’s upwind, downwind, reach, and stability characteristics. We have a fuselage for every need.
Front and Rear Foils
Aspect ratio and surface area are defining elements of the front and rear wing design. Wide, narrow foils are defined as high-aspect for speed and experienced riders, while wider, shorter low-aspect foils are all about lift and less about speed, better suited to the learning phases. Consequently, we have a range of combinations to suit interdisciplinary needs.
Masts
We have a range of differing mast lengths to suit every need; shorter for learning to longer for downwind and wave riding and where interdisciplinary needs between wind, wing or sup surfing are required. Carbon-constructed they are super durable and better still, they work between all our systems and can be upgraded to our quick-release system, carbon rail plate connector.
